Our founder Peter Eriksson has his background from the voluntary sector in Sweden before he started his professional career in business. Already at the founding of OnlineFactory.asia, it has been a natural part to integrate CSR in our ordinary business.
The gap between rich and poor are extremely high in the Philippines in a global perspective. We want to do our part to reduce this gap and together work for a better world. We can’t make it better for everyone – but it is a victory for every individual that we can help with our effort.
Our company do not only want to focus on our own profit – we also want to take responsibility to develop the society we are living and working in. That will be beneficial for our company, our employees, our clients and the society.
OUR COMPANY
Our office is located outside the business district of Manila in a residential area. We are the largest employer in our area. We offer competent employees qualified jobs and proximity from their home to the office. Most of our employees live near the area, so they get to spend more time with their families instead of having to commute 1 to 2 hours daily. It benefits both the company and the employees while strengthening the economy in this neighborhood through increased taxes and revenue.
HOME FOR THE ANGELS
We have for several years chosen to support the orphanage ‘The home of the angels‘, which is located near our office, with both different products that they need, but also with some monetary gifts. This initiative was started as a tribute to one of our employees who tragically passed away at a very young age.The great thing is that today, it is not only we, as a company, that support them, but also our employees carry out their own fundraisers and in addition, other Swedes in the Philippines have been inspired by us, and have also chosen to support this orphanage through their own fundraisers. It’s great that our work can give such ripple effect!
SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER, ALESSANDRA LOUISE KAW
Alessandra is a top student of whom we are very proud of, and she was appointed Valedictorian in her class. A perhaps unknown concept in Sweden, but very common here in the Philippines, as well as in the Uníted States and a few more countries. A Valedictorian is often the one who has performed best academically and therefore gives closing speeches for their class.
CHRISTMAS BAG DISTRIBUTION IN THE NEIGHBOURING AREA
Our office is located in a relatively poor part of Manila, outside of the business districts. We are the only outsourcing company in our area. Living conditions are very tough in the immediate area and, without exaggeration, some people live directly on the street and have a difficult time finding food for the day. We have a tradition of handing out a Christmas bag to those in most need, which contains essential supplies such as food and hygiene products. Every year, we have expanded our support as we grow ourselves, and this year we were able to help 350 families with a Christmas bag and a slightly better Christmas.
THE CAT SHELTER ‘STRAY ANIMALS
We support a cat shelter called ‘Stray Animals’ on a monthly basis and also through separate fundraisers. The cat shelter is run by the wife of one of our German agents. Stray Animals is a member of Animal Care Advocacy Philippines (ACAP). Today, 136 abandoned cats, 11 newly rescued kittens and 28 dogs are being cared for. It should be added that his wife Cecilia carries out this work completely unpaid and the largest contributor is her husband, Rolf.
KAISMORA’S MEN’S JUNIOR TEAM IN FLOORBALL
During the year, we’ve sponsored Kaismora’s men’s juniors with an education in mental training with the former National team star Jenny Hedlund. Jenny has several World Cup gold medals in her baggage and has, after her athletic career, chosen to invest in a career as a lecturer and to inspire other people to achieve great things. In this way, we want to invest in an immensely valuable education for these young guys. An education that will benefit them both in the sport, but also as people. We like to work with Jenny because she is a fantastic leader, inspirer and energy spreader!
MERITXELL FOUNDATION
Meritxell is an orphanage located in Marikina, Metro Manila. Meritxell focuses on caring for young, abandoned girls, who get a safe place at the orphanage. The goal is to find adoptive parents who can eventually take care of the girls. In the meantime, Merixtell helps them ensure a safe and secure home, education and other essential needs. Girls from Meritxell are today scattered across large parts of the globe, where a couple are even found in Sweden.
SAN LORENZO RUIZ HOME FOR THE ELDERLY
In the Philippines, there’s no elderly care like we are used to in Sweden. Here, the elderly are normally taken care of by their families in a fantastic way as they get older and approach the final stages life.
Unfortunately, there are those without family to take care of them. We have therefore chosen to support the San Lorenzo Home for the Elderly, which cares for 32 elderly people as if they were their own family. Our employees themselves selected this retirement home and donated a portion of their annual bonus to their cause.
SCHOLARSHIP, CATHLYN G OGOY
11-year-old Cathlyn was abandoned as a child by abusive parents and currently lives at the Meritxell orphanage. We currently support the orphanage in general with a small amount, but have also chosen to support this young, energetic and exuberant girl for her studies at Infant Jesus Academy.
STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES (UP)
We have chosen to support 5 promising students at IMSP (Institute of Mathematcis Sciences and Physics) with the funds to be able to conduct their remote studies during the pandemic. UP is recognized as the Philippines’ premier university that brings the greatest talents in the country together. However, many of these come from simple conditions and lack their own means to complete their studies.
SANTA AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER
Tobias Guldstrand has for many years dedicated a large part of his spare time to raising funds for the fight against childhood cancer. He has implemented many different initiatives, but is now mostly focused on the fundraising foundation ‘Santa against childhood cancer’. Last year, Tobias managed to raise over 2,000,000 SEK. This year, we have chosen to support Tobias through an influencer marketing project, where 4 of our employees work full time (free of charge) during the month of December, in order to bring influencers to Santa against childhood cancer, where they aid in spreading the message. Partly for the purpose of spreading information about childhood cancer, but also to raise funds for the fundraising foundation.
DISASTER ASSISTANCE
The Philippines suffers from a number of natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions annually. One of these is typhoon Odette, which caused great damage and dead victims. It was a quick reorganization when we ran into the industrious Bryan Edulzura from small town of Libjo on the island of Dinagat. We started with P50.000 but with the helped of our friends and family we ended up with P300.000. We are very proud that we manage to be the first mission to really deliver help relief to Dinagat (Mindanao). We reach 500 families and also empowered Libjo with their second generator on the island. A big thank you to those people who helped for the smooth organized.
