Seven years ago, Roger Soller was unemployed on the island of Mindoro. It is a few hours’ drive in the south of Manila. Brother Rholly called him with a job offer as a caretaker in Manila. Roger took the chance immediately and moved to Manila a few days later.
Rholly previously worked as a member of the Presidential Security Group for the former Philippine president. However, he had just shifted his job as a driver for a Swedish businessman. Through this, Rholly received tips about a job as a caretaker at the newly started company OnlineFactory.
I took the chance as soon as I got it. It was hard to leave my wife and children in Mindoro but we needed support for the family. Alongside the founding couple, I'm probably the first employee in OnlineFactory and I'm still there. I'm part of the inventory, laughs Roger.
Roger has never regretted the decision to move to Manila despite the constant longing for the family that he only sees for a few weeks every year. The job includes taking care of the property, cleaning, washing dishes, making coffee, and carrying out various types of errands. It is not an advanced job but is still an extremely important and basic functionality for creating good job satisfaction.
I enjoy my work very much. It's not a huge salary, but enough for me to be able to support the whole family in Mindoro. Through the company, I have free housing, health insurance, and the salary increases with each passing year. With our fantastic growth, I get the chance to meet talented people from all over the world every day who appreciate my work, says Roger.

The company has a small staff of 7 people in its administration that provides ground service to the now 160 agents who work with customer support, content management and influencer marketing for Swedish e-retailers. OnlineFactory has recently also broadened its range of services and now also offers services such as product sourcing, web design, web development, and purchasing planning.
In our growth strategy, there is still a full focus on Swedish online and e-commerce companies. We will grow by broadening ourselves with more services for both large and small e-retailers. We want to be able to support outsourcing services exactly where our customers have a need. In conclusion, Roger says that OnlineFactory is much more than a job for him. He lives at work in a room that the company provides, free of charge. He spends more or less time alone daily with co-workers as the family stays in Mindoro for financial reasons.
OnlineFactory has become like a second family to me. Thanks to this work, I can take care of and support my own family. But it is also a very rewarding job. I feel appreciated for my work every day.
